Daniel S. Loo, MD
Dr. Loo, a board-certified dermatologist for over 20 years, brings a deep background in research, teaching, and clinical practice to caring for his patients. An accomplished teacher and researcher, Dr. Loo formerly served as the Residency Program Director at both Boston University and Tufts University Departments of Dermatology, where he spent 17 years teaching and mentoring the next generation of dermatologists. He continues to maintain an academic appointment as an Associate Professor at Tufts Medical Center and teaches at the VA Medical Center, Jamaica Plain Campus, as well. Dr. Loo lectures widely and has contributed to many scholarly journals and books.
The recipient of numerous professional honors and recognitions, including Teacher of the Year awards from the Boston University and Tufts University Departments of Dermatology, he was awarded the 2012 Presidential Citation for Contributions to the Medical Student Core Curriculum Work Group from the American Academy of Dermatology.
Outside of the practice, Dr. Loo enjoys personal fitness, growing his lawn, and learning to speak Chinese. He lives in Newton with his wife and two teenage boys.
