Medical & Surgical Dermatology
As board-certified dermatologists, the SSDP physicians are educated and trained to treat over three thousand diseases of the skin, hair, and nails in patients of all ages. We offer caring, comprehensive preventive medicine and the latest treatments in all cases, from routine skin checks to skin cancer surgery.
We treat both routine and rare conditions with equal dedication and skill. Some of the most common issues we treat include acne, eczema, dry skin, psoriasis, sun damage, skin growths, skin cancer, and hair loss, and we do so with a personalized and effective approach. We are equipped to handle unusual diagnoses as well, including new skin conditions, such as those seen during the pandemic, and rare skin, hair, and nail disorders. We have many diagnostic tools available, including epiluminescence microscopy, microscopic examination, skin biopsy, and blood tests. Skin changes may be a sign of an internal disorder or illness, and we are trained to identify and evaluate those cases.
We also perform specialized surgical procedures, including the removal of precancerous and cancerous lesions, as well as benign lesions when indicated. Based on careful consideration of every patient’s situation, we use surgical techniques including shave removal, punch biopsy/removal, excisional surgery, electrodesiccation and curettage, electrocautery, cryosurgery, and laser surgery to ensure the best outcomes and recoveries. At times, we may recommend surgery by our on-staff plastic surgeon.
