SSDP Welcomes Dr. John Croke!

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. John Croke, board-certified dermatologist, to the SSDP practice. Dr. Croke, who has been practicing nearby in our local community for over 25 years, values the long-term relationships he has with his patients. He is happy to offer continuity of care by remaining in the neighborhood.

Dr. Croke focuses on general medical dermatology, with an emphasis on early detection of skin cancers. He has practiced primarily in Brockton, first as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine for over 15 years, while serving as Medical Director at their Brocton Satellite Clinic. He also was Chief of the Department of Dermatology at Brockton Hospital. Next, he practiced at Signature Healthcare Dermatology in Brockton for several years, before joining SSDP.

He attended Tufts University School of Medicine, where he received his MD, and Boston College for his undergraduate education. Prior to his dermatological training while in the military, Dr. Croke researched physiological human responses at the Natick Laboratory Army Research, Development, and Engineering Center (Natick Laboratory). During his dermatology training, he was Chief Resident at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam, in Houston, Texas. He was then stationed at Fort Benning, Columbus, Georgia, where he was Chief of the Dermatology Clinic at Martin Army Hospital.

Dr. Croke shared that, “I’m very excited for the opportunity to join a successful, forward-thinking practice that offers such personal, dedicated care. I’m also happy to remain a contributing physician to the local community that I‘ve been a part of for many years.”

Dr. Viraj Shroff-Mehta commented that, “We are honored that Dr. John Croke is joining our practice. He has been a respected and admired colleague and friend of ours for decades, and we’ve even shared patients on occasion. With his decades of experience, impressive reputation, and dedication to his patients, he’s a great addition to our group of board-certified dermatologists. He has many loyal patients and we welcome them to the SSDP family.”

In his free time, Dr. Croke enjoys gardening, fishing, reading, and biking.
