Skin Checks

screening-skiin-cancerAs members of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the physicians at SSDP encourage their patients to disrobe and have a full skin examination as part of their regular, preventive healthcare regimen. New patients are strongly urged to take advantage of this opportunity. Any patient may benefit from a skin cancer screening. During this examination, the doctors will scan and evaluate the skin for any suspicious birthmarks, moles or growths. It is prudent for the patient to point out any areas of concern while the examination is taking place. This way, questions may be addressed in a timely fashion. Many times lesions that have not been noted by the patients themselves can be detected and treated early.

Our dermatologists serve the community by providing free skin cancer screenings at Good Samaritan Medical Center during the AAD’s annual Skin Cancer Awareness program.

  • Patient treated for Acne

Dr. Ritt treated my acne with excellent results. He was patient, understanding and restored my confidence. I would totally recommend seeing him!
  • Patient treated with Blu-U® Light

Not only have I not had any more areas of concern show up on my face, but all of the old slightly colored/ blemished (areas) from previous treatments have disappeared.
  • Patient of Dr. Amy Chang

Dr. Chang has spotted things I didn't even know I had. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for the best dermatologist.
  • Patient of Dr. Shroff-Mehta

Dr. Shroff-Mehta is a fine physician and good friend. She takes a genuine interest in her patients, provides a sense of confidence and displays a clear message of competence. I would highly recommend her.
  • Patient treated with Blu-U® Light

My complexion was really improved and I looked better and younger than before.
  • Longtime SSDP patient

I always like coming to see Dr. Briceno. I always feel better when I leave and I have full confidence in her abilities.
  • Patient of Dr. Jay Ritt

At my first-ever total skin check in 2005, Dr. Ritt discovered a mole in the crease at the back of my knee that turned out to be a melanoma. It was diagnosed at an early stage and successfully excised. I would never have recognized this mole as being a problem because of the location. Now my husband, five children and I schedule yearly skin checks with Dr. Ritt.
  • Patient treated for squamous cell carcinoma

Dr. Chang has treated me for numerous pre-cancerous growths and she discovered a tiny growth that turned out to be a squamous cell carcinoma. I am so grateful that Dr. Chang is so thorough.
  • Patient of Dr. Shroff-Mehta

In today’s world of rushed health care and the unwillingness of most doctors to listen, Dr. Shroff-Mehta is one of a kind, and anyone who sees her is lucky to be her patient.
  • Long-time patient of Dr. Leera M. Briceno

I have been in the care of Dr. Leera Briceno for some years. I have confidence in her diagnosis and treatment, and her calm, caring response to questions removes anxiety and concern. I deeply appreciate her presence in my health care.
